The Haute-Provence Einkorn Association


History
The Haute-Provence Einkorn Association was born on May 23rd 1997 to face the unfair rivalry of some producers making intentionally confusion between einkorn and spelt.

Aim
The aim of this association is to promote and promote the Haute-Provence Einkorn. It checks that the producers obey the requirements.

Numbers
Since it was created, the number of its members has doubled. Dozens of producers harvest nearly 150 t of grain. Every year, new producers, especially of organic produces, join the Association and take part in the rise of this quality production.

• Requirements, officially recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and request of a Protected Area.

• Flyers for mass-audience.

• Articles in newspapers.

• Nutritional analysis.

• Work with Slow Food Association
The producers have worked with this association since 2005. They defend a good, clean and fair food. Einkorn belongs to French Presidiums (to protect small productions that might disappear). Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity conducts promotion projects to make people know its exceptional qualities.

- Participation in national and european fairs and shows.
